INTROSPECT daily,  DETECT diligently,  NEGATE ruthlessly, SUBSTITUTE wisely,  GROW steadily,  and BE HAPPY, FREE and IMMORTAL - be a GOD-MAN.

INTROSPECT Daily — आत्मावलोकनम्

Turn attention inward. Vedānta begins with ātma-vichāra — not “What is happening outside?” but “What is moving me within?”

उद्धरेदात्मनाऽत्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् ।

आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः ॥

Daily introspection exposes ego, rāga, dveṣa, and hidden fears.

Without it, spiritual life becomes mechanical.

DETECT Diligently — दोषदर्शनम्

Observe inner enemies at their subtle stage:

ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते ।

सङ्गात्संजायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोऽभिजायते ॥

Desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride, jealousy — these must be detected early, at the stage of attachment (सङ्ग).

Diligence means honest awareness without self-condemnation.

NEGATE Ruthlessly — नेति नेति

Practice discrimination:

नेति नेति ।

“I am hurt.”

“I am superior.”

“I am indispensable.”

Negate the false identification.

क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत ।

Negate the field; abide as the Knower.

This is Viveka in action.

 SUBSTITUTE Wisely — भावपरिवर्तनम्

Vedānta does not suppress; it sublimates.

अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्रः करुण एव च ।

निर्ममो निरहङ्कारः समदुःखसुखः क्षमी ॥

Anger → Compassion

Greed → Contentment

Ego → Humility & Devotion

Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga refine the mind.

GROW Steadily — क्रमविकासः

Growth is organic, not dramatic.

योऽन्तःसुखोऽन्तरारामस्तथान्तर्ज्योतिरेव यः ।

स योगी ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं ब्रह्मभूतोऽधिगच्छति ॥

Less reaction, more equanimity, increasing inwardness — this is real progress.

BE Happy, Free & Immortal

Happy — because your nature is Bliss:

आनन्दो ब्रह्मेति व्यजानात् ।

Free — when desires fall:

यदा सर्वे प्रमुच्यन्ते कामाः…

अथ मर्त्योऽमृतो भवति ॥

Immortal — the Self is unborn:

न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचित्…

न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे ॥

The “God-Man”

इहैव तैर्जितः सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मनः ।

निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद् ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिताः ॥

A God-Man is not one who becomes God —but one who discovers he was never bound.

To Sum up:

Introspection → Self-awareness

Detection → Viveka

Negation → Vairagya

Substitution → Sadhana

Steady Growth → Chitta-śuddhi

Freedom → Moksa

This is Yoga-Samucchaya in practical form —Advaita lived in daily life.
