Among those who restrain and discipline, I am the power of punishment; among those who seek to conquer, I am righteous statesmanship.
Among all secrets, I am silence; and among the wise, I am wisdom itself.

In this verse, the Lord reveals His presence not merely in outward power, but in the inner principles that govern order, mastery, and realization.
Daแน‡แธa (Punishment):
Punishment, when exercised to uphold dharma, is not cruelty but moral restraint. It is the corrective force that curbs chaos and protects harmony. Such disciplined authority, free from ego and vengeance, is a manifestation of the Lord Himself.
Nฤซti (Statesmanship):
True statesmanship, sanctioned by the ล›ฤstras, is that which seeks the welfare of society through justice, wisdom, and ethical governance. Victory attained through deception or injustice is hollow and transient. Only that triumph which is grounded in truth and righteousness is real—and that nฤซti is the Lord’s own expression.
Mauna (Silence):
Silence is declared to be the highest secret. This is not mere absence of speech, but mastery over thought, emotion, and impulse. Silence of the tongue disciplines speech; silence of the mind disciplines desire. Such mauna becomes the gateway to inner clarity and self-mastery, culminating in Self-realization.
Jรฑฤna (Wisdom):
Here, jรฑฤna signifies Self-knowledge (ฤtma-jรฑฤna)—the direct realization of one’s true nature. This wisdom is not acquired; it is revealed. It is the Lord’s sovereign glory, for the knower of Truth does not merely possess knowledge—he abides as Truth itself.

Power that restrains, governance that uplifts, silence that purifies, and knowledge that liberates—
all these are not human achievements alone; they are the very presence of the Lord shining through disciplined life and awakened wisdom.

One who has become Brahman (i.e., has realized Brahman as one’s own Self) does not return again to the cycle of transmigration (saแนƒsฤra). Therefore, one must clearly and completely realize the non-difference of the Self from Brahman.

This verse expresses the final and irrevocable consummation of liberation as taught in Advaita Vedฤnta.
This does not mean “becoming” Brahman as a new state or achievement. It means recognizing one’s eternal nature as Brahman. The word bhลซta here signifies established in knowledge, not transformation.
The liberated one does not return to saแนƒsฤra because bondage belonged only to ignorance (avidyฤ). When ignorance is destroyed by knowledge, there is no seed left for rebirth.
Transmigration is not a physical journey but a psychological–existential loop of identification with body, mind, and ego. Knowledge alone ends this cycle.
Liberation lies not in knowing Brahman as an object, but in realizing:
“I am not different from Brahman.”
This is aparokแนฃa-jรฑฤna—direct, immediate realization.
Therefore, this truth must be known clearly, thoroughly, and doubtlessly—not as belief, emotion, or philosophy, but as lived certainty.

Bondage is due to ignorance; liberation is knowledge.Knowledge is not of Brahman—but as Brahman. When the Self is known as non-different from Brahman, saแนƒsฤra collapses—not by effort, but by the dissolution of error.

HAVE A BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL DAY

It is a brief but precious moment in the vast expanse of existence, meant for awakening to the truth of pure consciousness. Yet, the very instruments intended to illuminate this truth—the mind (manas), intellect (buddhi), and inner awareness (antahkarana)—are delicate and prone to distortion. Classical Indian philosophy identifies four fundamental defects that cloud understanding and perpetuate bondage: Bhrama (Delusion), Pramada (Heedlessness), Vipralipsa (Deceit), and Karnapaแนญava (Inattention in Hearing). These are not mere abstract concepts; they are living tendencies that shape perception, judgment, and moral orientation. To recognize and remove them is to polish the mirror of the mind, allowing it to reflect the effulgence of the Self (Atman). The...

Pre-employment medical examinations are a vital safeguard in technically demanding industrial environments, ensuring that only medically fit candidates are inducted. These examinations are governed by detailed procedures designed to uphold transparency, accuracy, and professional integrity. Any deviation from these standards not only compromises the legitimacy of the recruitment process but also exposes the system to allegations of malpractice and weakens public trust. This case study concerns a complaint lodged by a selected candidate for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (OCT) in an integrated steel plant. The candidate alleged that he was declared “temporarily unfit” during the pre-employment medical examination because he refused to pay a bribe of Rs 1 lakh, demanded by the examining doctors. A vigilance inquiry into the Pre-employment Medical Examination Report, related documents, and statements of the medical personnel involved revealed several procedural ...
