𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

असतो मा सद्गमय। 

तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय। 

मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय।

ॐ शांतिः शांतिः शांतिः

𝔹𝕙𝕒𝕘𝕧𝕒𝕕𝕘𝕚𝕥𝕒

पश्यादित्यान्वसून् रुद्रानश्विनौ मरुतस्तथा |

बहून्यदृष्टपूर्वाणि पश्याश्चर्याणि भारत ||

Lord Kṛṣṇa asks Arjuna to look upon the Divine Vision in which all classes of celestial beings—Ādityas, Vasus, Rudras, Aśvins, and Maruts—are revealed together, along with countless extraordinary and unprecedented forms.

This verse emphasizes the vastness of the Viśvarūpa (Cosmic Form). Deities who are normally worshipped as separate powers are here seen as integral expressions of one Supreme Reality.

“Never seen before” indicates that the Ultimate Truth cannot be grasped by ordinary perception or intellect.

“Wondrous forms” points not merely to visual marvel, but to the spiritual awe that arises when the ego-centered view dissolves.

The many gods appearing together signify unity in diversity—many names and forms, one Consciousness.

Kṛṣṇa is revealing that all divine forces, all powers governing the universe, and all forms of existence are contained within Him alone. The vision is meant to awaken Arjuna—and the seeker—to the truth of the One appearing as many.

𝕍𝕚𝕧𝕖𝕜𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕦𝕕𝕒𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕚

यदि सत्यं भवेद् विश्वं सुषुप्ताम् उपलभ्यताम् ।

यन्नोपलभ्यते किंचिदतोऽसत् स्वप्नवन् मृषा ॥234

If the world were truly real, it should be experienced in deep sleep as well.

But since nothing whatsoever is experienced then, the world is unreal—false, like a dream.

Śaṅkarācārya uses deep sleep (suṣupti) as a decisive test of reality.

That which is real must persist and be experienced in all states—waking, dream, and deep sleep.

In deep sleep, the entire world—body, senses, mind, objects, relationships—completely disappears from experience.

Since the world is not experienced at all in deep sleep, it cannot be absolutely real.

The world is asat (not ultimately real), comparable to a dream (svapna)—appearing real while experienced, but negated when the state changes.

This verse does not deny empirical experience in the waking state.

It denies absolute reality to the world.

The world is vyāvahārika-satya (empirical reality),

Whereas the Self (Ātman), which continues to exist even in deep sleep as pure awareness, is pāramārthika-satya (absolute reality).

Thus:

What comes and goes with states of consciousness is unreal;

That which remains when all states dissolve is the Real.

Because the world vanishes in deep sleep, it is not ultimately real—it is an appearance, like a dream, while the Self alone is ever real.
