The Lord’s teaching is Nectar (amritam) to Arjuna. Who can find satisfy listening to such life-giving teaching, when the Lord is Himself the Speaker? Who can say ‘enough’? The teaching is immortal like the Lord Himself. 
The disciple should have such relish for the Guru’s words. All other things, the best of them, produce e the negative effect after so some time. But the Lord’s song of Immortality and Eternal Bliss can have no end, no diminution of interest and taste. It grows and grows till the whole being of man is filled with blissful adoration.

This realisation is attained by a perfect discrimination between the Self and the non-Self. Therefore one must strive for the discrimination between the individual soul and the eternal Self.

The verse highlights viveka — clear and correct discrimination — as the direct means to spiritual attainment. One must discern the real Self (เคธเคฆाเคค्เคฎा), the pure witnessing Consciousness, from the non-Self (เค†เคค्เคฎाเคจाเคค्เคฎ) such as body, mind, senses, thoughts, and ego. Liberation is not gained by effort in ritual, austerity, or external action, but only through this unwavering clarity of “I am the Self, not the body-mind.”
