Of the Sฤman hymns I am the Brihat-Sฤman, and of metres I am the Gฤyatri. Of months I am Mฤrga-ลirsha, and of seasons I am the flowery spring.
The prominence of Margasirsha is to be known from the following :
(1) At the time of the Mahabharata, the year used to start with the month of Margasirsha.
(2) The Sastras declare that the month is most suitable and meritorious for the performance of vows and fasts etc.
(3) People obtain the new harvest and there is general prosperity.
(4) It is stated in the Ramayana, that Margasirsha is the ornament of the year.
(5) The Bhagavad Gita was proclaimed to Arjuna in the month of Margasirsha (Suddha ekadasi) on the 11th day of the bright fortnight.
(6) Dattatreya was born in the same month (Suddha Purnima).
(7) The atmosphere is pleasant and equable and so the month is most suitable for tapas and Sadhana (Spiritual practice).
The spring season is the most beautiful, and nature puts forth all her beauty. Sri Rama was born in the month of Chaitra

He who clearly knows his own true nature as eternal, all-pervading, limitless, and extremely subtle—
that which is free from the distinction of inside and outside and not different from the Self itself—
such a person becomes free from sin, untainted by impurities, and transcends death.
This verse reveals the liberating power of Self-knowledge.
The Self is not an object located inside the body or outside in the world; it is the ever-present, all-pervading Consciousness that underlies both. Because it is subtle and non-dual, it cannot be grasped by the senses or the mind as an object—it can only be recognized as one’s own true being.
When this recognition is clear and firm, bondage falls away. Sin, merit, purity, impurity, birth and death belong only to the body–mind complex. The knower of the Self stands free from these limitations, abiding as the deathless, stainless Reality.
In short:
To know one’s own eternal, non-dual Self is itself liberation.
HAVE A BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL DAY
